Thirty days ago before something else got in the way (now what
was that?) I had a plan to tell you about a very important mandolin player some
of you maybe haven't had the pleasure of hearing.
Bobby Clark has been an important figure in the mandolin world for well over 25
years. If you're just seeing that name for the first time, or if you don't have
his music, take my advice and find everything he's ever played on. Then buy it.
You'll be delighted you did.
Clark is a lesson in what a great bluegrass mandolin player can and should be.
He's a skilled writer, great chord soloist and is equally at home in jazz and
country swing. Give a listen to one of his pieces he recorded in 1987 on our MP3
page and you'll see what I mean.
Very, very highly recommended.
